In response to the homebuilding downturn, I took the opportunity to pursue two entrepreneurial endeavors. These opportunities included investment management and the sales and leasing of automobiles. Selected to build sales force for The Cliffs’ new Custom Homebuilding Division with product ranging from $750K to over $4M. Created a model for developing a custom home sales organization for the seven communities spanning over 20,000 acres. Evaluated and made recommendations to improve the existing sales staff.

Led Purchasing and Estimating departments for a $580M home building division. Provided leadership and motivation during dramatic market downturn. Department realized significant reductions in brick & mortar costs and in product cycle time necessary to maintain a competitive market position

Responsible for leading the cross-functional departments that were accountable for driving Arizona’s growth targets. Led key departments in opening 14 new communities and development of 52 active parcels totaling over 12,000 lots

Promoted to increase market share and earnings growth for Centex’s flagship urban townhome and condominium acquisition. Responsibilities included integrating acquired sales force into the Centex culture and resources, building and training sales organization, and branding new marketing campaign to attract a broader customer base

Promoted to develop the sales organization, expand market share, and increase earnings for Centex’s new Fox & Jacobs Homes division that was subsequently used as a model for 80% of their national markets. This Fox & Jacobs Division grew to be the largest and one of the most profitable divisions in Centex Homes’ history
