In my current role at Fujifilm my main responsibilities are the operation of Local plant equipment including running the plant efficiently and econom- Ically, plant monitoring and fault diagnosis, planned and unplanned start Up and shutdown monitoring and operating the plant from the central Control room using Siemens control system, responding to hazardous Conditions or emergencies. I also carry out routine care and inspections Of the operating equipment ensuring equipment reliability and minimise The need for plant maintenance I am also a member of the fire team responsible for liaising with the emer- gency services when they are on site and helping deal with any emergency situations that may occur.

In my role I was involved in the manufacturing of active pharmaceutical ingredients for the controlled drug industry. My tasks include the operation of vacuum distillation equipment, vacuum filtration units, two phase separations, vessel to vessel transfers and first line maintenance of plant equipment. These tasks are all carried out under strict cGMP conditions following batch sheets and safe systems of work. I was also a member of the fire team responsible for liaising with the emergency services when they are on site and helping deal with any emergency situations that may occur.

While working at SABIC-IP I was involved in all aspects of manufacturing operations. This ranged from blending, extrusion to packaging and quality assurance. I was also involved in the startup and commissioning of a new extruders, giving me experience in writing procedures, qualifying new product introductions and experimental grades. In addition to core tasks I was selected to be involved in special projects, including development and implementation of maintenance checklists to improve efficiency of engineering tasks during plant maintenance and shutdowns. I also identified potential cost savings through utilization of unused equipment to enable product recycling leading to improved yield and productivity
