As the position hadn’t previously existed, I was in charge of deciding how the stock would be stored, how stock levels would be tracked and how best to package and ship orders. Day-to-day I am responsible for cutting, rolling, and packing large orders of fabric while liaising with various courier companies on shipping logistics for UK and international customers. This role requires a high level of organisation as I manage my own workload and that of my colleagues, who support me on both fabric and online order distribution. Every day was different, which meant constantly having to adapt to new machines and processes, depending on what production required. The role was highly mechanical and chemical, with complex equipment that needed to be maintained and brewing processes which could not be deviated from.
