I co-lead a portfolio of investments that has allocated over $300 million to market leading nonprofit organizations. I lead day to day activities for program investments including sourcing investment opportunities and managing relationships with select investees and supporting the development of innovative strategic plans to help them achieve greater impact (scale, reach, and/or influence). I serve as chief relationship manager for $70+ million worth of investments within a philanthropic collaboration that aims to boost economic mobility and improve the life trajectories of people impacted by the criminal justice system.

I directed program operations with seven direct reports and generated $3M in grantmaking and investments including long-term healthcare strategies for individuals suffering from addiction in Maryland and innovative, non-criminal justice alternatives to address behavioral issues. Accomplishments:•Authored two grants securing $1.71M in funding from The Rockefeller Foundation and received individual funding as clinical fellow, research fellow, and two policy fellowships.•Revieweing150+ grant proposals and served as lead Grantmaker funding $12M+ in social justice grants.•Reorganized grantmaking portfolio to transition from focusing on access to treatment to develop health equity lens seeking to address social determinants of health such as poverty, homelessness, racism, and stigma towards drug users. •Liaise with global Diversity, Equity and Inclusion office and local colleagues to inform need for programmatic offerings or support as senior member of Inclusion and Liaison Team.

As a Health Scientist, I was tasked with Managing $6M health disparities portal project to drive national discussion on health disparities concerns and supported NIMHD transition efforts with policy and strategy consultation by coordinating with high-ranking, cross-agency government officials and providing budget oversight.

In this role, I led equal justice and communication operations with $1M budget and up to 10 legal and social work intern direct reports by developing media and publicity strategy and guiding criminal and juvenile justice program policy development. Accomplishments I am most proud of in this role are:•Coordinating grassroots coalition of social justice and policy organizations to draft and successfully pass groundbreaking Ban the Box legislation limiting discrimination in hiring against ~2M people in New Jersey with criminal records.•Creating juvenile waiver reform in collaboration with New Jersey Juvenile Justice Commission to address disparities in trying youth as adults.

I served as trusted health care advisory to United States Senator regarding impact of Affordable Care Act on older and low-income adults, produced memos on health issues and speeches, and supported legislative negotiations by creating 20 townhall speeches, op eds, and opening remarks for committee hearings. Major accomplishments that I am most proud of in this role are:•Drafting amendments to State Children’s Health Insurance Program legislation resulting in acceptance into legislation.•Negotiating multiple stand-alone pieces of legislation into Affordable Care Act and Prosthetics Party legislation.

In this role, I spearheaded publishing of peer-reviewed research articles related to juvenile justice issues and mental health improving public understanding of need for better mental health services for justice involved youth. •Training probation officers in three jurisdictions to better identify suicidal youth. •Designing mental health emergency flowchart for several local juvenile justice systems in New York state.
