• Collaborating with Hardware and Mechanical Engineers to design complex PCB’s and flex circuits from the concept phase to the final flight build• Creating a complete design package to include all PCB design data• Driving state-of-the-art technologies into designs and board development• Creating schematics from engineering input• Managing product documentation such as assembly drawings working closely with internal engineering teams in the Space sector, and the mechanical design team in REDD• Placing and routing complex, high-speed, multilayer circuit boards• Work closely with the design teams on component layout and PCB design optimization• Provide complete PCB manufacturing data package to board fabrication• PCB routing of high speed components such as PCI, high speed DDR.• Coordinate and conduct design reviews with a cross-functional team to review the PCB layout design• Manage the releases of all required documentation and manufacturing data (Gerber, ODB++ data & BOM's) for prototype and flight PCBs using the PLM configuration management system• Providing guidance to junior engineers on our ECAD tools for PCB layout techniques• Perform detailed error checks, post processing, Gerber files, etc. to facilitate successful board manufacturingSKILLS• At least 40+ years experience in Printed circuit board design• Experience with Xpedition Tool Suite including DX Designer, Valor and/or other ECAD tools design outputs and documentation• Expert understanding of modern electronics, particularly Radio Frequency (RF/Antenna) and High-Speed Digital, and Power Management design principles• Experience with HDI/microvia design rules, PCB Stack-up Structures for controlled impedance for high-speed• Knowledge of modern SMT packaging, High Pin Count uBGA, etc. with a thorough understanding of the PCB fabrication process and IPC standards• Able to understand and apply best practices to minimize EMI/RFI and crosstalk issues• Experience with the design and manufacturing of flight products, applying design-for-manufacturability guidelines for high-reliability space flight hardware• A team player, able to communicate effectively with peers, and internal and external teams• Comfortable dealing with PCB fabrication and assembly questions and issues• High attention to detail• Experienced in the use of our North Star CT system for inspection, process development, and reverse engineering• Familiar with and have used assembly automation equipment
