I have over 35 years experience as a physical educator and exercise consultant specialialising in rehabilitation and exercise prescription across a number of fields.Since 1983, these have included professional sports involving strength and conditioning of athletes at AFL, NBL, SEABL and elite junior sports levels,Corporate Health and Lifestyle Education development and senior teaching roles and positions of responsibility at Secondary Schools across the Metropolitan Melbourne… Show more I have over 35 years experience as a physical educator and exercise consultant specialialising in rehabilitation and exercise prescription across a number of fields.Since 1983, these have included professional sports involving strength and conditioning of athletes at AFL, NBL, SEABL and elite junior sports levels,Corporate Health and Lifestyle Education development and senior teaching roles and positions of responsibility at Secondary Schools across the Metropolitan Melbourne area.However my main focus since 1996 has been on the development and longevity of the Heartwell Foundation, a not for profit organisation specialising in the provision of movement education/rehabilitation programs for children with illness, injury and/or disability.Together with Co Founder and partner Julienne Espenschied, we share the vision of 'creating a level playing field' for deserving children so that they may increase their movement skills, functional health and fitness levels and confidence to involve themselves in lifelong physical activity.Since inception 1000's of children with needs ranging from mild coordination issues right through to life threatening conditions have been involved in Heartwell programs in small group or individual settings. Our challenge is to ensure that we can continue to raise much needed funds from the Corporate, Philanthropic, Leisure Industry and small business sectors so that the many deserving children waiting for a Heartwell placement annually can be accomodated.Our mission is to spread the Heartwell word and activate as many kids as we can and we unabashedly seek your support.
