Profile bio

About Scott Allen Luke

My mission is to make the modern workplace less soul crushing by leveraging organizational psychology to instill more curiosity and empathy in others and to help people be the best versions of themselves at work.In business, just as in life, I believe in:+ bravery and empathy+ science, data, and evidence-informed practice+ the power of language and words+ our emotions as great tools to inform our decision-making and to reinforce learningWith an eclectic background in acting, theatre, coaching, operations, finance, and learning consulting, I have woven together a career bridging these otherwise disparate skill sets to bring a human-centered, data-driven, and scientific approach to organizational, talent, and leadership development, systems design, and creating cultures of learning and knowledge sharing. While in graduate school studying organizational psychology, I designed a psychometric survey to study the relationships between mental wellness, organizational citizenship (helping coworkers, going above and beyond, etc.), and organizational creativity. Across industries, genders, ethnicities, and job levels, the data showed organizations that openly addressed and supported the mental wellness of their people were also those with greater organizational creativity and innovation. In light of this data, I strive to destigmatize mental health, wellness, and emotions in the workplace. My acting and theatre background has developed me into a natural storyteller, and I have developed a knack for finding the story in the sea of financial, statistical, and operational data and training content. Being an actor has not only helped me to hone advanced presentation and communication skills, but also keen insights into human behavior, emotion, and motivation. As a learning and training design professional, I ascribe to the neuroscience that stories and emotion play a central role in the development of memories, which are the building blocks of learning.Ask me about my Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Tom Brokaw, and cricket impressions.Functional Skills:- Training needs analysis - Learning experience design- Job analysis, BARS and structured interview development- Organizational development and business process redesign- Performance management and competency modeling- Survey design and statistical analysis- Emotional intelligence and EQ coaching

Listed skills include Film, Improvisation, Theatre, Acting, and 21 others.
