I’ve developed some much needed data mining and database relationships to set up meaningful pipeline and management reporting for an up and coming client in the loan modification business. With Dodd-Frank, compensation structure changes were introduced, and the primary focus has been on compliance with that law. I created models for branch financials and compensation statements that took the underlying complexity of bringing multiple sources of data together for a relatively simple presentation, and streamlined workflow in their maintenance. Most recently working to customize our BI platform, Movation to adhere to EMM's needs. This is a dynamic way of presenting data, and allows for drill down.

I'd built Access database and Excel models extracting loan and general ledger data from the Company’s databases in compiling cost of servicing analyses, comprehensive S&P and Moody’s data requests for periodic ratings, as well as various ad-hoc portfolio and financial analyses at the direction of senior management for strategic planning purposes

Primary duties have involved taking data from multiple sources and assembling an accountability of cable equipment that’s been traded in to the manufacturers for credit, and allocating to the appropriate cost centers, as well as tracking open purchase order data to stratify expected outgoing payments to measure to budget. This effort, through Excel and Access models I’ve created is helpful in quarterly capital expenditure planning for the NETO division.

Bridged the responsibilities of Finance, IT, and Secondary Marketing in creating solutions for various operating and financial issues faced by the Company.Developed pipeline and production reports for both the corporate and origination channels, as well as the means to distribute them automatically. This was done primarily through Crystal Reports (in which I am self-taught).Implemented controls and processes to manage our FAS133 derivatives accounting by developing additional analyses and reconciliations to ensure the validity of this balance sheet item, which is the culmination of our pipeline hedging risk management activity. I’ve also worked closely with the developer of our hedging model to customize the application for our purposes. I’d created a loan allocation model in Access, which allows the Secondary Marketing department to select loans to securitize and fill open trading positions. This program gives the users flexibility in filtering loans available for sale, and links up to the hedging database for real time hedge positions and values. The resulting commitments are then imported into the loan production system to permanently mark the loan to market.Built a data warehouse (in Access) to take in a daily import from the production system, and to derive various daily and monthly accounting analyses and executive reports. Some of the benefits derived are loan purchase advice import and reconciliation, a flexible vehicle to calculate commissions, pricing analysis for Secondary, and various statistical and other ad-hoc reports and queries. As called upon by the President and CFO, I would assemble data to support a business plan upon entering into a new origination source agreement, such as a new branch and its anticipated profitability. I have also been called upon to take charge of the monthly close, and the preparation and analysis of the resulting financial statements, with the assistance of our accountants.

Applied my experience in MS Office (specifically Access) to the matter at hand. There was no automation in use in processing transactions, and there was very limited reporting in place. Over the next six months, I was able to build a warehouse line tracking mechanism (via Access) where we could precisely manage our lending, develop a post-closing and delivery database solution to manage funding pipeline and interface this functionality with accounting transactions. Accountability was vastly improved, and we could better measure our profitability on loan sales, not to mention alleviate the pressure to the accounting function.This vehicle that was created to process accounting transactions, before posting to the general ledger, had since yielded developments for commission payments and vendor (appraiser and title company) tracking, both functions analyzed in relation to loan production volume.I was responsible for assembling the annual budget for the mortgage company, which entailed collecting assumptions from key managers on the business, and deriving key metrics to use in the models. Monthly, I would review the actual financial performance of the Company with what was budgeted and reporting key variances to Management and the Board.For two years I was able to run Accounting by myself. In that time, I was given the responsibility of the IT department and had subsequently hired a manager to take control of this department so that I could focus on strategic planning and financial reporting\analysis.

Developed and implemented all accounting processes in an evolving loan servicing operation, that eventually grew to $2 billion in managed portfolio size. Managed the legacy systems, and developed bridges to accomodate the business needs of the operation.

I worked with responsibility for three (3) staff members. Duties expanded to include workflow management for my unit, and compiling\distributing daily fund prices and changes. I then became involved in the development and implementation of a new real- time shareholder information system. The position required contact with broker\dealers, fund companies, shareholders and all levels of staff and management.
