Negotiated easements, rights-of-way and pole attachment contracts; implemented audit/inventory compliance for Sarbanes-Oxley; reviewed CALEA requests. Introduced VoIP product to Colorado PUC in May 2004. Cultivated relationships with LFAs and local & state political figures in Colorado and D.C. Served as the regional Resolution Authority for subscriber complaints made to the President (had complete discretion to resolve service-related issues). Initiated lawsuits against competing over-builders and aided in estate-value preservation for eventual reorganization out of Chapter 11. Lastly, coordinated 394 franchise transfers and office integrations following the sale to Comcast and Time Warner Cable.

Regulatory counsel for the telephone industry's first residential pre-paid CLEC in the Southeast following the passage of the Telecommunications Act of 1996, based in Lawrenceville, GA. Created our first website, wrote employee manual, helped state utility commissions figure out what a prepaid CLEC was & how to regulate us, obtained telephone company operating authority (CPCNs), developed tariffs, interpreted interconnection agreements & UNEs with ILECs, and maintained compliance in 48 states plus the FCC. Was a founding member of the Competitive Carriers of the South (CompSouth), a CLEC trade-group protecting and promoting our interests to the PSCs and BellSouth. Assisted in negotiating deals to acquire six smaller competitors. As Secretary, prepared documents for quarterly and annual officer & director meetings. Sued BellSouth for antitrust violations in 2001. Lobbied Congress and the FCC with Carl Tuvin & Jim Kuhn to preserve full access to TSR & UNEs in 2002. Filed for Chapter 11 in March 2003. Sold to ClearTel Communications in December 2003 (later acquired by Birch); I remained as consultant during transition through July 2004 but was recruited to Adelphia Cable Communications in December 2003.
