As a Project Design Engineer at Dalkia UK, I oversee large-scale decarbonisation projects on live hospital sites, from concept design to detailed design and then to construction, commissioning and handover. I manage external and internal stakeholders across various disciplines, such as electrical, mechanical, and BMS, to ensure quality, efficiency, and sustainability. I am the technical lead on new potential projects and have delivered successful bids across the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme (PSDS), Local Energy Accelerator (LEA), and Low Carbon Skills Fund (LCSF) on behalf of clients. I focus on the modeling of energy optimisation measures and energy consumption models to determine saving potentials across the projects. I deal with third-party consultants, clients, and funders to ensure that all parties are well-informed and to secure the most funding for the client and the most energy-efficient solutions for both client and funders.I am an extroverted individual who enjoys the client-facing aspects of my role. From my years in the hospitality industry to currently managing subcontractors and specialists, I have developed my interpersonal skills to a very high level. This skill set is something I have enjoyed developing over the years and constantly focus on improving.My previous experience as a detailed design engineer and my current experience managing design consultants through stages 2-4 have been critical in developing my competencies across multiple disciplines including mechanical, electrical, structural, and controls. These roles have built my understanding of the UK standards and regulations in numerous sectors including residential, commercial, and healthcare. I use the opportunity of managing these teams to obtain as much knowledge from all consultants, subcontractors, and specialists and utilize their wealth of knowledge in specific areas to broaden my understanding of the project. Overall I am a hard-working, motivated, and methodical person always on the lookout for a new challenge or opportunity to better myself and the environmentMy passion for renewables and sustainability stems from the energy crisis I have grown up with in my home country and this was the driving force behind my master's in renewable energy. I enjoy being challenged as I know that is where the most growth occurs and I aim to build up my knowledge in the industry to eventually start my own business.
