Worked in Chemical Intermediates for Production Engineering as a Co-Op in Utilities and Adipic Led a project to upgrade the plant river water intake. This brought the plant into compliance with EPA regulation 316(b). The project was implemented and the environmental permit was successfully renewed after my Co-Op term. Held weekly safety audits of the Adipic Acid production area, this was part of Ascend's Commitment to ZERO, the goal of which is to achieve zero safety incidents.Created computer models in AFT Arrow and Fathom of the NOx header system. These models were created to reduce environmental releases and reduce nitric acid loses through better NOx header operation.

Worked with Process Engineers in the Power and Chemical Recovery departmentConducted Tall Oil Soap sampling to monitor production quality. This consistent tracking contributed to improved unit performance by minimizing process upsets. I assisted operators in delivering technical assistance and troubleshooting with BasicCare handheld technology. I collaborated with operators to create more efficient equipment check routes.
