I am a recent graduate from the University of Pretoria in South Africa where I was conferred a bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering at the end of 2019 as well as an Honors degree in Mechanical Engineering at the end of 2022. I chose to pursue Engineering as I have a keen interest in physics and enjoy the challenges of mathematics. I chose Mechanical Engineering because it covered a broad range of different engineering disciplines and gave me the opportunity to explore how physics and maths could be applied on several different problems to find their best fitting solutions. I have a number of vacation work experiences with a wide range of engineering companies (hydraulics, metrology and steel works) where I have been able to build on a diverse set of topics and developed understanding that can affect positively on outcomes and experiences. Some of the responsibilities included working on hydraulic tipping systems for mining trucks, drawing designs for a new flow lab and designing the layout of solar panel setups for powering an office environment. These experiences taught me that Engineering has its roots in various fields of education and can be used in ways to better the world through good practice and innovation. Through this I can work with a wide range of Engineers and bright talented minds alike.
