About Sean Mccarthy

My name is Sean McCarthy and I am from Buffalo, NY. I am aspiring to become a Production member for any Professional Sports’ broadcasting and media team. I have experience in Game Day operations in Broadcasting and Media Production, through multiple Freelance opportunities mostly as Utility/Camera Operator for local Division 1 Colleges and 2 Pro Sports teams. In addition, throughout my years at Cortland and my senior Internship at Syracuse University, I go to work on the ‘Cuse on the Couch side-stream for Syracuse’s Football and Men’s and Women’s Basketball games for the 2020-2021 Covid season. I have learned various skills in using Adobe creative programs, video editing, OBS streaming software, and basic Audio and Visual skills such as troubleshooting and making new audio/visual cables as well as setting up and breaking down production equipment ranging from simple Camera set ups to full production trucks. I hope my skill set can assist and enhance any organization that needs it. I am a hardworking and committed individual that will get the job done as best as I can!

Working as a Freelance Camera Operator for Canisius Athletics. I am mainly the “Tight Follow” camera meant for close up shots and shots used for replay. Also, would help strike at the end of games when needed too. I have covered every sport at Canisius such as Basketball, Baseball and Softball, Lacrosse, and Soccer but most notably the 2023 MAAC Softball Championships and the 2023 Atlantic Hockey Championships. There’s a great academic program here learning this industry and whenever they have students running cameras while I’m there I try to help them out as best I can!
