Group’s principle advisor on issues affecting over 1,000 Airmen and civilian employees. The group performs a myriad of critical base support operations including security forces, force protection, crash and structural fire protection, emergency and disaster response, logistics functions, communications, morale, welfare, recreation programs, permanent and temporary housing, food services, and contracting. Chief Smith also serves as a liaison on force utilization, operational efficiency, enlisted readiness, professional development and training, operations tempo, Airmen morale and welfare. He works closely with organizational senior leaders.

The group's principle advisor on issues affecting over 1,600 Airmen and civilian employees across six squadrons. The group performs a myriad of critical base support operations including security forces, force protection, crash and structural fire protection, emergency and disaster response, logistical functions, communications, morale, welfare, recreation programs, permanent and temporary housing, food services, and contracting. An annual budget of $98 million and $312 million in physical assets provide base support for the Air Force's largest air refueling wing comprised of 54 KC-135 Stratotankers and their crews, the 184th Intelligence Wing, Kansas Air National Guard, and the 931st Air Refueling Wing. Chief Smith also serves as a liaison on force utilization, operational efficiency, enlisted readiness, professional development and training, operations tempo, Airmen morale and welfare. He works closely with organizational senior leaders to ensure the wing commander's intent is understood and executed.

As the squadron’s senior enlisted leader, he advises the commander on all matters influencing the effective employment of over 240 military and civilian personnel supporting 62 KC- 135R/T Stratotankers and greater than 3,000 Airmen. The squadron plans and deploys base personnel and cargo in support of contingency and peacetime operations, manages a 15 thousand line-item inventory, maintains 4.5 million gallons of aircraft fuel, and preserves 429 assigned vehicles, all valued in excess of $120M. He also coordinates closely with wing staff agencies, group and squadron commanders, as well as, senior enlisted leaders to ensure the wing commander's intent is understood and executed.

Oversees supply chain management solutions sustaining 90 aircraft and 7 thousand personnel. Successfully improved aircraft availability through rigorous coordination with item managers and suppliers. Through scrutinization of worldwide inventory surplus provided an additional 30 thousand personal protective items. Furthermore, built logistics plans with international partners utilizing air and ground transportation covering 32 thousand square miles.

Managed 39 plans and 19 programs governing the operations of 5 thousand personnel.

Oversaw operations compliance of 421 member within 7 diverse career fields.

Led 43 personnel in the storage, distribution, accounting, and maintenance of 300 thousand items worth $6 million.

Principle advisor to 26 foreign partners in the logistics sustainment of 1 thousand personnel.

Developing business case analysis for departmental process optimization while employing traditional project management and agile skills. Outlining prospective solutions both near- and far-term while developing six projects simultaneously.
