Libya Airports Review (2014)Part of the senior project delivery team on a multi-faceted review of three related airport projects in Libya. Total sums involved in the various contracts exceed over €2.5 billion. Leading the contractual review element of the project and tasked with the delivery of complex reviews pertaining to the thirteen contracts covering the flagship airport projects in Tripoli, Benghazi and Sebha.Proposed a robust strategy that will ensure greater protection for the client going forward - from a contract perspective.Provided additional advice to the project director on a restart process that would allow for the inclusion of concurrent activities designed to address potential delays to the completion of the projects.Provided negotiation advice on how best to facilitate payment of monies owed to date (penalty payments and outstanding invoices under the contracts) and tying the remaining amounts to future milestone payments in order to further incentivise timely completion of the various works, whilst also allowing the client to better manage their initial and future financial outgoings.Nigeria – OML 58 Dispute (2013) Selected to lead a small team put in place to provide specialist support for an ongoing legal dispute relating to a $14 million sum for damages. Wind Farm, Scotland (2013) Providing direct support to the project lead relating to an international contractor’s claim for extension of time of over six months and loss and expense reimbursement of over £7 million on a 20-mast wind farm in the Scottish Highlands.Mixed Use Development, Kazakhstan (2013) Providing direct support to the project lead relating to a Turkish concrete contractor’s claim for approximately £23.2 million for alleged wrongful termination, extension of time, loss and expense, special damages and final valuation under an amended FIDIC Red book 1999 form of contract.
