Megawatt, an energy solutions company, develops utility-scale power plants and provides consulting services to the electric power industry in both the US and abroad. Sean Kennedy serves as president and project developer for Megawatt acquiring land, negotiating power purchase agreements, permitting and reclassifying land, directing engineering studies and design, and tendering and managing EPC contracts.

Summit International Relations was a business strategy firm that specialized in developing strategic and financial partnerships for projects in the energy, manufacturing, IT, and real estate sectors in the Balkan and Black Sea Region. Entering the region was timed to coincide with increased demand for finance and experienced partners created by the January 2007 EU accession of Romanian and Bulgaria. As President and Managing Director of Summit International Relations, Sean Kennedy managed all aspects of the business including overseeing strategic planning, business development, and creating a wide network of partnerships for the firm. Under his leadership, Summit International Relations primary focus has been to identify financial and strategic partners for large projects in the Balkan and Black Sea Region. Mr. Kennedy identified business opportunities for clients and developed the commercial and government relationships required for them to seize these opportunities. Specialties: Building financial and strategic partnerships for energy projects in the Balkan and Black Sea Region with a focus on Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia, Serbia, and Ukraine.

Travel nationally and internationally in organizational and logistical support of President Clinton's trips. Responsibilities included producing and directing many of the President's largest media events, providing logistical and informational support for the press, coordinating efforts of the Secret Service, White House Communications, and the White House staff, working with local hosts, and briefing the President.

Spearheaded an office wide and department wide efforts to change the procedures DOE uses for overseas operations and travel management. These efforts include creating a generic model for operation of all of DOE's overseas offices, laying out a plan for an expanded Moscow Office, serving as the front office liaison on the DOE Overseas Guidelines Task Force charged with developing benefits guidelines for overseas employees, and directed an effort to develop web-based travel management software for DOE.

Advised the Secretary with respect to the political and policy implications arising out of public and private events. Looked for strategic opportunities for the Secretary to emphasize his priorities. Acted as liaison for the Secretary with DOE, White House, and Congressional staff, as well as industry representatives. Represented the Secretary at meetings with key contacts, assuring that his views were adequately presented. Managed a staff of seven.

Coordinated visual message and logistics of Secretary Peña's domestic and international visits. Acted as the Secretary's personal representative prior to his arrival on trips and at in town events. Assigned and managed advance staff. Organized support for the Secretary's travel provided by the Department's security service, legal counsel, public affairs officers, departmental managers and others.

Assigned to the Secretary of Energy's Strategic Alignment Commission. Served in the Defense Programs and National Security Cluster. Was one of two people with the responsibility to interview heads of all government departments in agencies that were stakeholders in DOE's role as the steward of the nation's nuclear weapons program. During this multi-month effort, intervened the leadership of the nuclear weapons related programs at agencies ranging from the Joint Chief's of Staff of the Armed Forces, the NSC, and DOE's national labs, test areas, and manufacturing and disassembly facilities. Upon completing of the interview process worked in committee to recommend right sizing and streamlining of DOE's Defense and National Security programs. Submitted the Commission's analysis and recommendations to the Secretary of Energy.

Served as an appointee in the Office of Civilian Radioactive Waste Management, the office responsible for the Yucca Mountain Project. Acted as a technical and political liaison, developed communications plans, conducted stakeholder meetings, and coordinated special projects.

Reviewed, evaluated and mapped gold and base metal targets in mining districts in Nevada, Utah, California and Arizona to determine resource potential.

Worked with an environmental geologist on a non-point source ground water pollution study examining the extent of agricultural chemical pollution throughout the state of Iowa.
