Britta Segerskog (born March 16, 1986) is a Mexican/ Danish artist, she is the daughter of Bettina Flatow Segerskog (danish mother) and Feliu E. Iñesta Monmany (spanish father). Britta began drawing when she was about 14 years old, that was the first time she realized she had an interest in art. Since her mother, aunt and grandmother had all painted at some point in their lives she was always surrounded by art. Britta idolized her grandmother Birgitta Segerskog and grew up visiting galleries and meeting artists. She traveled to Denmark when she was 16 where she lived and studied she then went back and forth from mexico and Denmark. In between that time she also lived in Madrid Spain for a year, that is were she began her art restoration studies, later on she continued her restoration studies in Cuernavaca Mexico. While studying art she had tried different styles and mediums, but has found that the best medium for her is oil and the best style is antique sfumato painting the same style that Leonardo Da Vinci used. She has moved on from only copying the masters and is currenlty finding her own subjects. Her art tends to be a little more on the dark side, she chooses strong images to send a message to the viewer, her ultimate goal is to be able to instil so much emotion in the viewer that they experience the Stendhal Syndrome, a feeling which she has expierenced herself previously when confronted with beautifull works of art in Italy and Spain.
