Understanding and predicting cultural change are at the heart of what I do. For over 20 years, I’ve been collaborating with top organizations, developing innovative methods to turn cultural signals into high-value intelligence, media content and business models. My main expertise is helping clients build and refine cultural intelligence pipelines and decision support systems, so they can successfully navigate analytics overload, discern what’s relevant for them, and act on critical cultural signals. For Penguin Random House, I recently created and implemented a bespoke cultural intelligence framework to help 5 self-help imprints become more culturally responsive. Since 2011, I’ve worked with the AkzoNobel team that sets annual color priorities across all major global brands, helping them translate cultural developments in the United States into coherent aesthetics. For Omnicom Group, I created the cultural analysis framework that underlies sparks&honey, a leading cultural consultancy. Currently, I work with Harmony Labs on the Narrative Observatory, a tool to identify, measure and track media narratives and visual trends. And I am a founding faculty member of the Masters of Branding Program at the School of Visual Arts in New York City, where I teach future forecasting and design research.
