In this role I was responsible for the architecture and design of the "Tower" components of Cisco Cloud Web Security. These are located in 23 Data Centres around the world processing around 9 billion requests per day, protecting customers 24/7.The software checks Internet traffic for malware in real time, logging each request in a centralised database, if required blocking request according to customer-defined policies, or if they found to send or request malware. This also includes decryption of TLS traffic (man-in-the middle) as per customer-defined rules to ensure that it is checked for malware and all required policies are applied.
