As a tax examiner, I provide customer service to our taxpayers who call by listening to their questions and answering them in a way they can understand it even if they have no experience with sales tax, which may sometimes result in researching specific tax law codes to determine the answer to their questions.It is my responsibility to complete each task that is assigned to me in a timely manner, which may include correcting sales tax returns or determining which account any returns and/or payments should go to, if the taxpayer does not input their account number correctly. I also view penalty waiver requests that a taxpayer may submit to determine if they are eligible to have their late file or late pay penalties waived. To date, I have corrected thousands of Sales Tax returns and allocated an approximate $20,000,000 to the correct account. I am also responsible for keeping up do date with any new tax changes, and answering questions Taxpayers may have about any changes.

As a supervisor, my duties consisted of cashiering, running the customer service desk and helping customers get their lottery tickets and/or any money orders, or helping customers in any other way they may need. I would help answer any questions customers or my coworkers may have. After the store closes at 10:00 P.M., I would be responsible to count the safe and all of the register's money, to ensure that it was accurate to the amount of money that the store should have had in the safe and registers. If the count was not accurate one night, it would fall on me to explain how or why the money count was off.After my duties were fulfilled, I would often take the time to help out the evening manager, if he needed help with anything on that particular night. This has resulted in me learning how to do other duties that would regularly fall onto other departments. For example, there have been a few nights I would help the stock crew with their work, even though it was not my duty.
