Welcome to my profile! I am a mathematics and computer science student at the University of Maryland with a background in mathematical analysis, statistics, and advanced linear algebra, and programming experience in web development, machine learning, and computer vision using Python, Java, and C#.Ever since I first took calculus in high school, I knew I enjoyed solving problems and wanted to study math—and while it quickly became the most difficult thing I’ve ever done, this only motivated me to push further and seek new ways to apply the analytical skills I learned in fun and innovative ways—some of which have included analyzing YouTube thumbnails using machine learning and implementing a SLAM algorithm using computer vision in MATLAB. I am driven by curiosity, I learn fast, and I consistently seek to push beyond my comfort zone. Each semester since I began my undergraduate degree, I have pushed myself to take the most difficult courses available to me, and when I've struggled, I've been able to assess myself, adjust, and push myself just that bit further next time. Math has pushed me to be the best possible version of myself, and to look at problems in a rigorous, careful fashion, and I couldn't be more excited to expand these ideas to a rich experience in programming.In my spare time, I help lead Vintages Voices at UMD, as treasurer, where I help coordinate live performances of vintage music at senior homes, plan our budget through the student government, and run our annual benefit concert to raise awareness and funding for various causes. Through my time as treasurer, we have held two benefit concerts, several dozen individual performances, and raised over two thousand dollars for the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, in addition to maintaining our iPod donation program.If you are interested in more examples of my code (for example, some of the computer vision projects I worked on), feel free to contact me at the information above; since some projects were collaborative/course-related I do not keep them publicly available, but would be happy to share.
