I have over 35 years' industry experience across the mining, resources and energy sectors in Australia and internationally. Currently working on a range of mining and energy projects for Hancock Prospecting, I have previously worked in more than 30 countries for employers including BP, BHP, Shell and PTTEP. I am an investor in and Non-Executive Chairman of Pivotree (www.pivotree.com.au), a start-up company with an innovative technology solution to unlock production from stranded oil fields using its patented small oilfield production system. This is not a desk-top exercise: the first Pivotree is built and successfully tested, and we are working to deploy it.I am a member of the Advisory Board of the University of Western Australia's Centre for Mining, Energy and Natural Resources Law, and have been a regular contributor to the Centre's resources law programmes. I was a director of successful listed mid-cap exploration company Carnarvon Energy Ltd (ASX:CVN) from July 2018 until April 2024, and chaired the Remuneration & Nominations Committee.Other past board appointments include two years as an independent director of Robe River Kuruma Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC, and seven years as a non-executive director of Mungalalu Truscott Airbase Pty Ltd and Troughton Island Pty Ltd, companies which run two airbases in the remote far north Kimberley region of WA. I was also Chair of Tura New Music for five years until June 2020. Tura is a not-for-profit music organisation based in Perth, Western Australia, with a 30-year history as a producer, resource centre and advocate for New Music and a proud history of achievement in initiating cultural development in remote communities of Western Australia through its multi-award winning touring and remote residency programmes.
