About Shane Smith

I've always had a love for the entertainment industry, but it wasn't until my second year of college when I was asked to design web graphics for an event hosted by an Indiana Jones club that I was part of (yes, that's right), that I discovered graphic design. After that, I officially became an art major, and completed by BFA in Graphic Design at Cal State University Fullerton, before landing my first job at a video game publisher based in Santa Ana, CA. At NIS America, I worked with a talented team of designers and localization experts to bring collector's editions of Japanese games to the US and Europe. There, I collaborated with licensing partners and vendors to help create exciting products for our fans. While at NISA, I also began using my spare time to learn a 3D program called Blender, and completely changed the way the company marketed and displayed our games online.In 2017 I left NIS America to join the team at Cryptozoic Entertainment, where I was fortunate to work with such popular brands as Rick and Morty, Outlander, and my favorite brand of all: DC Comics. At Cryptozoic I continued to learn more about print prep and production while designing premium trading cards which used technology such as foil stamping and white plate inks. I created packaging for collectibles, games, and trading cards, and used my knowledge of 3D rendering to translate those packages into print and web graphics used on our website and in catalogues at conventions like San Diego Comic Con. My experience there led me to Ravensburger North America, makers of the popular Disney Villainous tabletop card game, world famous puzzles, and more. My hope at Ravensburger is to further hone my craft, and contribute to their already stellar portfolio of products.About me: I love games like Assassin's Creed and Dungeons & Dragons, and I'm a huge Doctor Who nerd.
