I am a passionate public servant with over 28 years of experience in Fire and EMS, currently serving as Deputy Chief of Operations with South King Fire in King County, Washington. Throughout my career, I’ve embraced a growth mindset, learning through both challenges and triumphs, and gaining a broader perspective by serving in a variety of roles. Each experience has shaped my leadership approach and reinforced my commitment to lifelong learning.With an extensive background in special operations and technical rescue, I am deeply committed to education and training. My philosophy of developing others to surpass oneself has had a transformative impact, both for those I’ve mentored and for myself. This approach was especially impactful during my tenure as President of Rescue City, a non-profit organization focused on special operations training, where I worked to elevate the capabilities of first responders.I am also proud to serve as a member of Washington Task Force 1 (WATF1), one of the 28 National FEMA Urban Search and Rescue Teams. Since joining in 2007, I’ve held multiple positions, including rescue specialist, rescue squad officer, and task force safety officer, and currently serve as task force leader. These roles have provided invaluable growth, allowing me to lead complex operations and contribute to high-impact rescue missions across the country.My journey has led me to a deep understanding of my purpose in public service: to serve others with integrity, humility, and commitment. The challenges I’ve faced along the way have strengthened my resolve and reaffirmed my dedication to the mission of public service. It is a true honor to contribute to something greater than myself, and I remain deeply grateful for the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
