Shane's work as a gender equity consultant focuses on editing and revamping diversity, equity, and inclusion policies for companies and businesses, and providing interactive trainings to supplement policy updates. Shane’s gender inclusion consultations and training programs have been utilized by businesses and organizations including ATIXA, Arcadis, DraftKings, Cumberland County (ME) Bar Association, Environmental Resources Management (ERM), ESPN, FiscalNote, Gillette, the New Jersey Devils (NHL), and more, plus high school and college classrooms across the US and in Canada.

Changing the Game is a documentary film that follows three transgender high school student athletes as they fight to compete in their respective sports amidst backlash, vitriol, and transphobic policies and laws. As the Impact Campaign Manager, I help bring their stories to communities across the country to empower trans folks and our allies to create safer and more inclusive spaces within sport.

The World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH), formerly known as the (Harry Benjamin International Gender Dysphoria Association (HBIGDA), is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, interdisciplinary professional and educational organization devoted to transgender health. Our professional, supporting, and student members engage in clinical and academic research to develop evidence-based medicine and strive to promote a high quality of care for transsexual, transgender, and gender-nonconforming individuals internationally. Responsibilities include overseeing all external communications including press releases and statements, media inquiries and interviews, and questions relating to the Standards of Care for the Health of Transgender and Gender Diverse People, Version 8 (SOC8); creating and implementing media tracking systems, internal processes for media relations protocols including talking points, and cross-collaboration with similar organizations or associations.

Founded in 2003, Transgender Legal Defense & Education Fund is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose mission is to end discrimination and achieve equality for transgender people, particularly those in our most vulnerable communities. Our strategies include pathbreaking trans rights cases and "friend of the court" briefs regarding the key issues of employment, health care, education and public accommodations. We seek to coordinate with traditional civil rights organizations and other LGBT civil rights organizations. We also provide public education on transgender rights. Our Name Change Project provides pro bono legal name change services to community members through partnerships with some of nation's premier law firms and corporate law departments, including Davis Polk & Wardwell, Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft, Sullivan & Cromwell, Reed Smith, and more.

My role as a Research Associate was to provide exceptional customer service while processing phone orders, and provide flexibility and collaboration with coworkers and Leaders to effectively staff the Flagship location. I was also the primary candy distributer and "please keep this long queue happy while they wait" ambassador.

Speak About It offers affirmative consent education through performance and dialogue for high school and college students. Under my leadership, Speak About It was performed for over 300,000 students at hundreds of schools, sparking countless dialogues about consent, sexual assault prevention, and healthy sexuality. In addition to our flagship, five-person performance, our programs promote conversation about intersectionality and identity, bystander intervention, empathy, and the importance of clear communication. As the founding executive director, I was a veritable jack of all trades and have experience in sales and marketing, scheduling and logistics, hiring and personnel management, board development and strategic planning, fundraising and development, copy writing and social media, and pitching bad dad jokes; I can't solve a Rubik's Cube, but that's probably the only time you'll hear me say that I can't find a solution for a problem.
