I specialize in creating innovative curricular materials and learning experiences for students K- post secondary, adult education learning experiences and professional development opportunities, meaningful and growth oriented assessments employing qualitative and quantitative methodologies, and education management and leadership. Research foci include anthropology in K-12 education, difficult histories and conversations in the classroom, heritage studies, examining racialized landscapes, African American cemeteries, social justice education, community centered education, museum education, object-based learning, place-based learning, and arts-based learning.Current projects include Untold: African American cemetery stories past and present. This AR/VR experience blends primary sources, art, descendants stories, and archaeology to memorialized erased bodies and stories in African American cemeteries. African American Cemetery Education Tampa Bay. This $750,000 state funded project infuses local Florida African American cemeteries and local African American history into the classroom through the creation and establishment of K-12 curricular materials, oral histories, AR/VR experiences, art, and photovoice.The Rose Hill Cemetery Project www.rosehillcemeteryproject.com. This grant funded project shares the history and stories of local leaders and loved ones buried at the Rose (Hill) Cemetery, the largest intact segregated African American cemetery in Pinellas County.Anthropology and Archaeology curriculum development.
