My name is Sharon Everett and I’m the sole proprietor and servicing speech pathologist with Asheville Speech Therapy.. I started my career in FL and extended my travels to SC and will continue my story here, in Asheville, NC. To date, I have over 20 years of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist in various settings including: public education, outpatient facilities, home health care, and nursing facilities.Through my various journeys as an SLP, I’ve learned that each individual’s uniqueness makes them renowned! We are all blessed with multiple gifts and challenges in in this ever changing puzzle that is our world. It is my position to help bridge these pieces that may inhibit each person’s ability to become the most functioning communicator for their unique world. Communication is a crucial piece of the puzzle that connects our worlds with our ‘voices’. As home based speech therapist, I am able to develop you and your loved one’s communication abilities to function within the community, bringing the puzzle together.Why Home Health Based Practice? I believe in community based, functional, and ethichal therapy practices that help an individual and family to grow. So when I decided to become a local business to extend my skills in the most ethical and practical way possible, I immediately knew it would be....IN THE HOME! Home therapy proves to be extremely succeful for clients and family member. Whether it’s communication bridging, increasing swallow abilities, or learning to cope with ‘disabilities’ that arise from one of life’s many crazy events, I’m there to provide support and interventions in a caring fashion.
