Responsible for the management of a 7 person Patient Services Team who support the ophthalmic consultants and their patients. Responsible for all PMI billing as well as accuracy checking of all consultant payments and being the point of contact for any consultant fees queries. Took the lead for implementation of EDI billing for the group. Heavily involved in the configuration, training and implementation of Lumeon PAS system for all Optegra Hospital sites.

As practice manager for this NHS Orthodontist, my role was responsible for the day-to-day management of the practice including:• Supervision and management of a team of three nursing and two administrative staff;• Liaison with the PCT and NHS regarding referrals and payments;• Site management, including liaison with builders and contractors;• Practice visits to referring dentists with the aim of promoting our services;• Treatment Co-ordination for NHS and private patients.

Directly responsible for sixteen members of administration staff, key duties in this role included:• Recruitment and appraisal of admin staff;• Managing rosters and appropriate staff levels for admin and optometric staff;• Supervision and monitoring of admin staff in consulting and day surgery;• Implementation of counseling/disciplinary plans where necessary;• Participation in the annual quality audit (ISO9000);• Identifying staff training and development needs;• Monthly data reporting to Department of Health and Private Health Funds;• Daily and monthly KPI reporting to head office regarding staff hours etc;• Providing written Informed Financial Consent to patients for surgery;• Booking day surgery and laser surgery appointments.
