Starting a new job in March 2020, right as the UK entered its first covid-19 lockdown, was certainly an unusual start to my legal career. While working in the Peace of Mind team in the Employment Department at Warner Goodman Solicitors I have witnessed first-hand how quickly employment law can change, and how important reliable legal advice is to a business. Now with the chaos of the pandemic largely behind us, I continue to work in the Peace of Mind team, helping employers in a range of industries stay up to date with constantly evolving employment law. As a document audit clerk, I worked with our clients to draft contracts and policies that were not only legally compliant, but also tailored to each business’ unique needs. After a year I was promoted to supervisor of the document audit team, where my responsibilities expanded to include training new team members and managing the reviews of our growing list of clients.I then pursued the next stage in my legal career, writing the SQE1 in July 2023 followed by the SQE 2 in January 2024. I passed both on my first attempt and qualified as a solicitor in July 2024. In my role, I am fortunate to meet and work with individuals from a wide range of industries. Our clients include students’ unions, golf clubs, care homes, retail shops, construction companies, and many more. Outside of work I enjoy baking, reading mystery novels, and training in Japanese Jiu Jitsu.
