Sheri leads Generations United’s work to expand the development of intergenerational programs, and strategic communications for the organization. During her 20+ years with Generations United, she has developed resources and provided training and technical assistance; launched numerous initiatives including the National Center on Shared Sites and the Intergenerational Program Certification program; and created a variety of learning networks and capacity-building projects.

Plan, oversee, and manage special projects for organization. Deliver training and technical assistance to practitioners around the United States through conference presentations, webinars, and in-person sessions. Develop resources, publications and fact sheets. Serve on management team. Launched the Best Intergenerational Communities Awards, the National Center on Intergenerational Shared Sites, the Program of Distinction designation for intergenerational programs, Youth-led intergenerational programming efforts, the National Education Association-Retired Intergenerational Teacher Mentoring Project, and Environmental Awareness efforts. Develop and manage small grants and awards programs. Prepare foundation and government grant proposals and reports. Serve on GU's management team.

Directed Generations United’s ongoing intergenerational program development efforts. Provided technical assistance and training to professionals, practitioners, and policy makers. Coordinated the intergenerational program database and information and referral clearinghouse. Maintained organization web site.

Responsible for overall management and coordination of organization's intergenerational mentoring, service learning, and computer programs. Managed organization's AmeriCorps contract. Recruited, trained, supported, and supervised 12 AmeriCorps members who served in Seattle schools and senior services organizations. Coordinated and provided training and technical assistance to AmeriCorps members and host sites on topics including intergenerational programs, volunteer management, empathy training, working with elders, working in schools, and program evaluation. Developed intergenerational partnerships between local schools and senior organizations. Lead recruitment efforts for intergenerational program participants. Designed and implemented outcome based program evaluation. Researched and wrote program evaluation reports. Provided information, referral services, and technical assistance to individuals and organizations interested in intergenerational programs.

Served as project coordinator and principal writer for the monograph Grandparents and Other Relatives Raising Children: An Intergenerational Action Agenda. Edited and wrote articles for quarterly newsletter. Organized discussions on current public policy issues. Coordinated events at national conference. Provided information and assistance on intergenerational programming and public policy issues.
