The Loss Prevention Specialist (LPS) is a key high-level position in the Amazon Fulfillment Centers (FCs). The Loss Prevention Specialist leads the effort to efficiently and effectively provide security services and asset (lives, buildings, equipment, inventory, data, & intellectual property) protection in a designated fulfillment center. The LPS reports to the Loss Prevention Manager responsible for their facility, and aids them in supporting the FC Operational team, and the cross functional teams throughout the organization.Key job responsibilities•Lead, conduct, and deliver results regarding investigations of Theft, Fraud, and Workplace Violence/Critical Incidents•Prepare prompt and complete reports relative to Workplace Violence, Theft, Fraud, Critical Incidents, and Process Improvement•Deliver results through policy Guidance, Education, and Mitigation strategies to help meet business demands•Serve as department’s liaison and security/crisis management subject matter expert for site leadership keeping them informed on key issues, strategies and the department’s performance•Analyze data, conducts audits and identify trends to create actionable plans to mitigate risk•Maintain confidentiality in matters involving security and/or personnel issues in the work place•Effectively partner with internal customers in evaluating current and future security services, processes and initiatives• Develop strategies for alarm reduction and conduct system diagnostic for problematic devices by engaging and resolving issues with internal and external partners• Accurately communicate verbally and in written form to a broad customer base• Develop projects while continuously improving physical security, processes, standards, training, and policies for future growth• Ensure internal controls per Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) requirements related to data center access controls, inventory control and record keeping

Monitor profit and loss of the facility and maintain the safety of customer assets. Mitigate company losses and criminal activities within the store and prevent financial loss from theft and fraud. Ensure that all procedures, policies, exposure standards and shortage awareness are thoroughly understood by the store team including all executives and associates. Clearly communicate store and company objectives so both executives and associates are well informed.• Manage 20 people directly and oversee the entire store with 400 employees; assist in managing e-commerce operations.• Greet people visiting the store, process receipt checks and monitor Asset Protection Associates; direct the receiving and processing of all merchandise receipts; ensure back of house standards are maintained, and verify vendor invoices.• Initiate and implement shortage and safety programs; implement reduction initiatives and formulate preventative action plans; manage and communicate all incidents with impact on business or brand protection.• Oversee and investigate criminal violations against the person or property of any customer or associate committed on company premises when required; manage and monitor internal and external case productivity and recoveries.• Perform all the required paperwork and claims area; make sure returned merchandise is in good enough condition and up to standards to be put back onto the store floor. • Contributed extensively to the significant reduction of shrinkage since 2018; successfully handled yearly inventory by creating a comprehensive plan and getting merchandise where it needs to be, as well as sorting it out appropriately.

Maintained safety of the store by following all safety standards, procedures, and guidelines including conducting safety sweeps, following proper procedures for handling and disposing of hazardous materials. Secured and safeguarded the store and surrounding areas by observing and communicating suspicious activity, assisting with investigations, maintaining paperwork, logs and other required documentation.• Oversaw the entire store in the absence as a Store Manager, managed temporary associates and ensured the smooth running of operations; assisted cashiers, department managers, fresh departments, as well as the neighborhood market. • Helped the warehousing department to securely store the stock so that it is not lost or damaged; accurately labeled stocks transferred to and from the warehouse to keep a track of the exact material dispatched.• Verified receipts of the suppliers and buyers and ensured that the information was correctly entered into the database; communicated suspicious behavior of customers or employees to the senior officials for further investigation.• Carried out daily security checks of the warehouse and generated daily and weekly cargo loss reports, as well as circulated to appropriate personnel; monitored department operations to check any violations of company safety policies.• Ensured optimal levels of customer service interactions and acknowledged customers while entering and exiting the store; adhered to organizational guidelines, policies and core values, including its mission and vision
