As a qualified urbanist, a professionally trained designer, and a published writer and columnist, I have spent over 18 years creating distinctive places that people love to live, work, and play in, around the world. I have worked in various geographies — both independently and within multidisciplinary teams —providing strategic direction and insight on complex projects ranging from neighbourhood design to large urban masterplans, special destinations and attractions, and place brands, across the world. Since 2013, I have had my own strategic consultancy practice, working independently as well as collaboratively, on special destination and placemaking projects in the UK, south east Asia, the Middle East, and beyond. Prior to that, I have been fortunate to have worked in several talented teams on some exceptional projects around the world.I am also a published design and urbanism writer, columnist, and photographer since 2004. My writing on design and urbanism has been published in several mainstream web and print publications, including Forbes Life India, Times of India, British Airways' Metrotwin Mumbai, rediff.com, Deccan Herald, The Telegraph, The Tribune, and Spotted By Locals, amongst others. My urban and travel photography has been published by several online and print magazines including Londonist.com, Televisual, Forbes Life etc., and has been exhibited in central London. Essentially, I am a multidisciplinary, multi-skilled storyteller — through my consulting, writing, photography and design work, I help my clients tell theirs. I'm available as a strategic consultant for small to large scale destination development projects and place brands; as a writer/commentator on design, urbanism and travel; and am always up for interesting collaborations and conversations at the intersection of all my skills and experiences. I can be contacted at studio@storyofplace.co.uk.
