Participating in Queen's University Internship Program (QUIP) lead me to a 16 month full-time work placement at the Ministry of Transportation-Eastern Region Office. Working as a GIS specialist in the Geomatics Department, I have been able to apply my GIS learning to a high functioning corporate environment. This opportunity has developed skills in programs such as Esri's ArcMap, ArcCatalog, ArcGIS Online, Collector App, Survey 123 App, Insights, SafeSoftware's FME, and AutoCAD's Standard and Civil3D. I have gained experience working with data servers, online mapping portals, and python script code automation. I am an enthusiastic worker who strives to ensure that work is being completed in the most efficient and effective way possible. Working at the Ministry of Transportation for 16 months has given me the skill set to thrive in any data management position.

GIS Specialist for the Queen's University Department of Biology involved analyzing Species Distribution Modelling of Loggerhead Shrike birds as an endangered bird species in North America. My work was funded by Queen's University's Summer Work Experience Program, a program designed to connect undergrad students and professors for research experience in a related field of study. I used my GIS knowledge under a Biology Adjunct Professor to analyse her research from a new perspective. Using Esri's ArcMap in concert with MaxEnt perdictive modelling software, I lead the project through research, investigation, data mining, data analysis and finally mapping for projected species occurrence.
