Steve has had a challenging and rewarding career as an entrepreneur. He has started several business ventures in mortgage banking, real estate development and management, importing, sign manufacturing and business consulting. He currently is managing partner of an apartment complex in Newark, NJ.He graduated from Ohio State University with a BSBA majoring in business and community analysis and did graduate studies at Cleveland State University in business and economics.He has also invested in several start-ups. Bloom has also been retained by owners to assist in “turning around” a factoring company and distressed real estate properties. Steve is an instructor in small business finance and business planning at Emory University’s Center for Continuing Education. He is a frequent contributor to numerous media outlets and has been quoted in MSNBC.com, Entrepreneur.com, blogs.Reuters.com, Main Street.com, National Public Radio and SCORE’s Entrepreneur Blog. He also participates quarterly in SCORE’s webinar, “Starting a new Business.”His background and desire to continually seek different challenges, has provided him the opportunity to chair a number of organizations including the American Red Cross Disaster Relief and Mass Care Committees in Cleveland, Ohio and West Palm Beach, Florida; B’nai B’rith Young Leadership Committee, Washington, DC; U.S. Maccabiah Fast Pitch Softball Team, that won the Gold Medal in Tel Aviv, Israel; Volunteer District Chief, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue, Florida; and was chairman for the 4th time of Atlanta SCORE, that was the number one Chapter in the U.S. in 2008. Bloom received the Volunteer of the Year Award in 2013 from the Cumming-Forsyth Chamber of Commerce; the award was renamed as the Steve Bloom Award.Steve is a frequent lecturer on “Financing Your Business-When the Banks Say No;” “Are you Prepared to Start a Business;” ‘The Keys to a Successful Venture,” “Are You Ready?” and “Economic Challenges: Crisis or Opportunity?”
