With years of challenger brand experience, I work particularly well with those at a point of change and clients who need someone who knows what they’re doing and will do it quickly, without fuss and, hopefully, beautifully.I’m a brand, marketing and communications industry expert with over 30 years experience running agencies, advising clients, building workplace cultures and making highly effective and memorable creative work.Most recently, as CSO at Wunderman Thompson, as well as securing multiple new business wins, I was part of the team that led and repositioned one of the largest agencies in the country to create a more distinctive, culturally rich company. By identifying what made a 600-strong, multi-service agency and its people special, I helped redefine what ’integration’ means for a modern communications company, ultimately winning Campaign’s Integrated Agency of The Year at the first attempt.Before that, at Karmarama, the agency I owned and led with 3 partners for 14 years, I helped build one of the most distinctive creative companies of its time, securing The Sunday Times best creative agency to work at 7-years running, winning over 50 new business pitches and multiple marketing and effectiveness awards. Also, I helped steer the company through private equity investment to double in size to 300 people while diversifying from advertising into social, CRM, data and mobile specialisms, before selling to Accenture Interactive in one of the largest industry deals.Prior to Karmarama, I was head of planning at HHCL and Partners, the first Campaign agency of the decade and the most talked about and admired of its kind.I cut my planning teeth at JWT learning from some of the very best, and before that I was a Brand Manager at Procter & Gamble, learning the craft of marketing from the true experts.Above all else, I’m a problem solver who always finds a more creative and inspired solution while helping those around me reach their full potential.
