About Simon Hicks

At heart, I am down to earth, sincere and driven. Authenticity is core to who I am. Fundamentally, I want to make a difference in what I do.Undoubtedly, my career path has been unique, migrating across the world and progressing from a traditional banking sales role in the City of London, to working in the emerging world of commercial AI in Sydney. On reflection, the jump might seem significant, yet looking back I have always been connected to enterprise, developing relationships, building solutions and being a trusted adviser. In more recent years, it has been energising to see business change through AI-enabled solutions and witness first-hand how technology is changing the way that humans interact, communicate and exist.Today, I’m responsible for driving the growth of Amelia, an IPsoft company across the ANZ/APAC region, delivering the digital workforce to enterprise, government and non-for-profit organisations. Crucially, my job is to understand the core objectives a client wants to achieve or the fundamental problems they want to solve and define the cognitive technology solution to deliver against these with maximum impact.It is humbling that colleagues, partners and clients have always said I’m someone who gets things done. I am earnest in my desire to deliver and succeed, and energetic and positive in my approach. Dedication, hard work and resilience are the character traits that have always seen me succeed be it in my career, migrating to Australia or joining the army. I am passionate about making a difference and bringing a positive impact to clients. For me, building trust is at the heart of achieving these outcomes, derived through collaboration, open and clear lines of questioning, in-depth scoping activities, and a pragmatic approach to problem solving.
