My long-term career goals involve teaching at a college or university while using my PhD in Cellular and Molecular Biology (in progress) to pursue my own research within those fields. My research interests are in high-throughput biology and protein design, and my current work focuses on understanding and engineering membrane transporters. I have experience in a research laboratory including mentorship of rotation students and high schoolers and the design & execution of lab outreach activities for Madison area youth. I also have experience volunteering in elementary and middle school math & science classrooms and working as a math tutor for elementary to high school aged students.
