Reporting to the People Services Director I was responsible for managing all UK Recruitment (excluding Care Services).This included permanent and Fixed Term Contracts via our partner Cielo and Contingent Workers via our partner Hays as well as Executive Recruitment with our in-house team.

I am the primary interface between the outsourced partner and the UK business and ensure that the scope of services agreed are implemented to time and cost of agreed plan.I was responsible for:-Monitoring and managing service delivery and integration to agreed SLA's through the change cycleDeveloping and implementing appropriate processes, governance, SLA's and reporting metricsIdentifying and managing all necessary business communication / engagementEnsuring implementation and phased transition plans are developed and signed off

Salford Quays

I managed the Process & Governance, Quality, Sales Reward and Intermediary Support functions.I also managed, provided governance and ensured compliance of the 5000+ Intermediaries aligned to Bupa.I designed and implemented a new risk management framework which supported the embedding and ownership of risk management into our sales culture.I also designed and implemented a new Sales Performance Related Pay scheme that met new FSA guidelines (mitigated risks to customers from financial incentives). This new scheme balanced reward based on volumes of sales made against quality moderators with financial consequences which ensured customer needs were identified and met.

Bupa

I negotiated contracts and monitored performance for third party work providers in India and UK. I also managed the Service Operations MI & Planning, Training and Quality & Compliance functions.I improved the outsourced processes by changing the Down Stream Access postage supplier away from the Royal Mail resulting in immediate savings of £500k pa. I also developed BCP and DR plans for Service Operations and both the print and fulfillment supplier and the Indian back office supplier.I lead a project group to improve Bupa’s TCF (Treating Customers Fairly) reporting and operational controls. Working with many diverse departments I developed and communicated the plan and produced reporting that provided a balance between detailed compliance and operational metrics. This ensured that the new TCF process was aligned to Bupa’s strategic direction.

Set strategic direction for Manchester billing centre and negotiated and monitored performance for third party work providers.I designed and implemented a new quality system to empower front line staff to do the right thing first time. Developed Customer Service Standards and produced incentives for achieving them. Dramatically reduced repeat calls from customers.

Trafford

As an elected Councillor for Trafford I Chaired the Stretford Community Area Board, Stretford Town Centre Partnership, Chair of Ruling Group and was a member of the Planning committee. I pioneered new community groups, oversaw the introduction of electronic library cards and worked with a housing association to improve their environment and housing stock (nominated for a national award).I negotiated with Manchester United’s CEO for planning gain over Old Trafford’s ground extensions. Consulted extensively and produced a well researched dossier that led to successfully securing £2m funding to help residents on match days.
