I have been involved as an adult volunteer with the Sea Cadets for the 7 years, first as an adult instructor at a unit in Gosport. I moved to Warsash Unit 4 years ago, simply the best sea cadet unit in the country. I was the Senior Volunteer responsible for the delivery of the Seamanship Specialisation training for 14000 Cadets and 9000 adults.Being the head of such a technical subject i have been actively working on updating the course ware materials for the delivery of seamanship which is a core subject that gives all members of the corps self discipline and team work.The training materials include comprehensive handouts, Session plans and examination papers. I had the honour of being the Officer in charge of Warsash Sea Cadet Unit in Hampshire. A young vibrant unit with 60 cadets. Warsash Sea Cadet has broken records since it opened in 2006 ,in 2015 won the prestigious Canada Trophy which is for being the best Unit in the UK.Being responsible for the delivery of training to the cadets of the unit, seeing them grow up to become up standing members of the public.One of the hardest decision i had to make was to stand down as… Show more I had the honour of being the Officer in charge of Warsash Sea Cadet Unit in Hampshire.
