I was responsible for contributing specialist expertise to the operational aspects of credit provision and fulfilling the needs of the clients of UBS WM&BB. I was responsible for the review and approval of credit documentation, creation and maintenance of credit facilities, management of the mortgage completion process and day to day management of the mortgage product. I was responsible for the review of operational risk controls which I monitored accordingly on a regular basis. My overall job objective was to originate and arrange property lending opportunities in the residential and commercial property markets utilising the teams main lending products, those being senior debt, mezzanine finance and, in some instances, equity.The majority of the transactions I undertook were of a structured nature; pre-planning risk; asset management opportunities and residential/ mixed use development. To facilitate these types of transactions a sound knowledge of the UK planning system was required additionally understanding of specialisations such as property valuation and quantity surveying was important.
