Simon Crabb is a passionate leader deeply committed to supporting people experiencing vulnerability to overcome barriers to employment. Working in the social sector for 10 years he has built his expertise and reputation as one of Australia’s innovative systems thinkers and collaborators. Currently, he is an Associate Director in SVA's Employment team where he leads a range of innovative projects and partnerships with government, philanthropy, employers, and the social sector. Simon has led several impactful programs, including the Industry Employment Initiative, a unique demand-led employment model. This innovative collaboration provided direct insights into the challenges faced by jobseekers navigating complex systems, employers seeking to meet recruitment needs, and the stakeholders working to support diverse workforces. In 2018, Simon earned a Jobs Victoria Innovation Fellowship and established a partnership with FSG’s Talent Rewire, an initiative delivering impact at scale across the US. This work informed the creation of SVA’s Rebuilding the Career Ladder initiative, a project directly supporting employers to shift practices and establish new career pathways for young people facing barriers to work. Simon also provides Secretariat support to the Jobs & Skills Funders Network, a Philanthropy Australia subchapter. In 2023, Simon was awarded 'Emerging Leader of the Year' at the Third Sector Awards.Simon is a passionate ally for First Nations people and communities. He has been a part of SVA’s RAP Committee since 2014 and co-chair since 2019.
