I was a lead detective in a highly specialist police unit, investigating commercial armed robbery, organised criminality and running high profile investigations. This work involved complex reactive investigations, along with the managing and running of high risk, fast paced covert firearms operations. This role involved close liaison with legal counsel, external client support , senior management and giving regular talks, conferences and advice to high value retail and commercial companies. For my work tackling armed criminals I was awarded numerous judges' commendations, most notably for my investigation into audacious 'smash and grab' offences committed at luxury watch outlets in London and the UK; a complex and high profile robbery and murder investigation; and for a vast investigation into violent and organised offences targeting the telecommunications industry across the country.
