I am the director of Harrison OT Services Ltd providing independent Operational Technology (OT) consultancy across the water utility sector, specialising in OT systems/management, Strategy Development, Operating Model Design, IIoT applications, Smart Asset Systems and more.After completing an Electronics apprenticeship including ONC, HNC & HND qualifications, I joined Anglian Water focusing on Instrumentation & Control systems. This progressed to Programmable Logic Controllers, SCADA systems and then Telemetry systems, working on various aspects of operational maintenance and automation/telemetry projects.During this time I was seconded to Logica, who supplied the regional telemetry system, working on technical projects and software system development. This provided me with valuable insight from the suppliers perspective, understanding customers needs, problems and areas for telemetry system development. After transferring back to Anglian Water, I graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Electronic Engineering and moved on within the telemetry department holding various technical, management and senior leadership positions.In total, I have over thirty five years of experience in the application of OT across the water industry. In my career I’ve undertaken key roles in both operations, capital delivery asset planning/delivery and strategy. My OT knowledge across one of the largest single telemetry systems in the UK, along with leadership for OT industry working groups such as WITS has gained me recognition as a leading expert. Finally, setting up my own company has enabled me to reach out and provide real life experience and future strategic direction to a wider audience.
