Egger Forestry has set up a new Forestry Management arm to complement their existing timber harvesting business. I head a team to offer a full forest management serivce to woodland owners and investors. Our philosophy is to get closer to the grower and strenghten links in the supply chain for the benefit of all parties.

My main task was to provide professional investment advice to high net worth individuals considering purchasing woodlands in the UK, who would then become clients of UPM Tilhill. This involved detailed appraisal of commercial conifer woodlands, the preparation of cashflows and assessment using IRR/NPV methodologies.Part of this role involved the sales and marketing necessary to find these investors.I also specialised in Forest Certification and have more than 10 years experience in UKWAS auditing.I was involved in the trading of carbon credits in new woodland creation projects.

Day to day responsibility for the management of >5,000ha of commercial woodlands in south Scotland. Tasks included the preparation of budgets for clients, implementing and supervising work programmes. I was involved in extensive new planting projects, forest road building and substantial timber harvesting work.
