I handle patent work in the chemical and mechanical areas, as well as some biochemical work, and am involved in work in the medical device field. I have wide experience of the drafting and prosecution of patent applications in the European Patent Office and in the other major industrial countries. I have extensive experience of intellectual property agreements, with particular involvement in patent licensing and other patent-related agreements.

Working as an in-house patent attorney, dealing with traditional patent protection matters (such as the filing and prosecution of patent applications) and contractual arrangements with MoD partners. Experienced at filing S22 patent applications

Research into liquid crystal displays, including ferroelectric displays. Great experience working in collaborations with Sharp (Japan) and Sharp Labs (Europe) with people from many disciplines (electrical engineering, chemistry, physics and materials science). Taught me how to do research, work hard and drink saki. Paper published in Applied Physics Letters, Molecular Crystals Liquid Crystals, Journal of Applied Crystallography, Liquid Crystals.
