As Director of Carers Trust in Wales I had a wide strategic remit to enable unpaid Carers to understand how and where to receive the best quality local support possible via Carers Trust's Network of local partners. It was my role to ensure the massive financial, emotional and physical burden placed on so many unpaid Carers is recognised by Government and across all sectors in Wales.

At Samaritans I had strategic responsibility for co-ordinating Samaritans work across Wales including working with the Welsh Government and across public, private and voluntary sectors.

During seven years at Parkinson's UK i managed a team of 16 fantastic staff based across Wales. I directly influenced an improvement in care for people with Parkinson's disease being delivered across the NHS. I had overall responsibility for for the strategic development of Parkinson's UK across Wales including partnerhsip development, budget management and recruitment. I am particularly proud of successfully leading the charity's work to recruit new Parkinson's Disease Nurse Specialists who do so much to improve the lives of people with Parkinson's and their carers.

International

International Leadership programme to research and report on the demographic trends impacting on 5 rapidly growing global cities. I worked with three colleagues in Moscow, Tehran, Mumbai, Beijing and Tokyo over three months in 2001.

My responsibilities included working closely within the Welsh Labour team supporting election planning, volunteer support and party development. I worked closely with the Welsh Government, UK Government, Ministers, backbenchers, MEP's and the Prime Minister's Office around all aspects of support and development for Labour in Wales.
