I have a well established background within the construction industry, initially gained within Architectural and multi-disciplinary consultancy companies, then progressing into design management roles for large main contractors. I currently Lead a Feasibility Team for Willmott Dixon, which involves early engagement with customers to help review the viability of their proposed projects.

I gained an Advanced G.N.V.Q for Construction and the Built Environment followed by a Bachelor Degree in Architectural Studies from West Nottinghamshire College and the University of Lincolnshire and Humberside respectively. Studying these qualifications enabled me to gain knowledge and understanding within the construction industry including design, detailing and construction technology.I have worked withinmulti-disciplinary companies since 2005, and this has enabled me to work on a variety of large scale projects at various levels initially for Retail, Food Production, Manufacturing, Biomass, Waste and Energy from Waste (EfW), Logistics / Distribution sector clients, but more recently specialising in the Education sectors.Prior to 2005, I worked for a number of Architectural consultancy companies expanding my general architectural knowledge base in various sectors including student accommodation, commercial and residential together with listed building consent applications. More specifically I gained an understanding of the process required to undertake a construction project from start to finish based on the RIBA / CIAT work stages 1 – 7 (Previously A – L & M).During my time within Large Architectural Consultancy practices, I had been approached by various Main Contractors in relation to offers of employment within Design Management role positions. I made the leap from Consultancy to Design Management a few years ago and during this time I have progressed to a Senior Design Manager position while working on various successful preconstruction tenders and on-site projects ranging in value from 1.5m – 150m.
