As as Head of Operations for Critiqom, I was working between our Glasgow head office and our ever expanding Warrington site to ensure my team produce a high level of efficiency and productivity while maintaining 100% quality across both operations and constantly driving down the cost base. Striving to produce a single set of operational targets and create a " one factory, two sites" mentality.

In addition to my duties as Print Room Manager, I have been tasked with the responsibility for the successful testing and migration process of a new major client's workload into our existing business. This has involved working directly with the Client, Head of Document Services, Project Manager and Senior directors within both companies to ensure its successful transition.

Reporting into the Factory Manager I am responsible for 3 Shift Leaders plus a department of 21 staff. The role requires the effective management of the department including, Performance management of all staff, maintaining high levels of productivity while keeping costs as low as possible and building successful relationships with external contractors. I have applied Lean manufacturing techniques to improve productivity and processes across the whole production area with great results.

Responsible, on a full continental shift basis, of a shift of 6 staff. Dealing with Staff holidays, Disciplinary, Interviews and any Personal issues. Prioritising work to tight deadlines in line with production schedules. Monitoring and re-ordering consumables for 11 Laser machines. Collecting, inputting and interpreting data which is used by through the entire business. Organising planned and non-planned maintenance with external engineers. Meeting with suppliers, and heads of other departments to help decide how the Laser department can assist the continual growth of the business.

I have an extensive knowledge of running various types of Laser printers, Inc OCE 180, NDX, NDZ, 240, 350, 440 and 7650 machines, Xerox 92c, 4635, DT180 and 6060 machines, IBM 4000, 4100 and 5000 machines. This coupled with experience of front end drivers such as PACS, IPW and Free Flow.

Working weekends in the Input Control Dept, checking printed output quality, reprocessing reprints, interrogating the mainframe system. Weekdays working within the Support Office, collating filling figures, producing royal mail figures and updating warehouse systems.
