Resposible for the design of structural and civil elements of projects in the Industrial and Comercial sectors.

Techrete is an Architectural precast concrete facad specialist. As a structural engineer I was responsibe for designing and co-ordinating the RC panels. I desinged the global layout of panels on the building, their size and composition and how they were fixed to the structure. Each panel was designed for efficiency during fabrication, transportation and handling.

Project coordinator for the prime contractor on projects including substation expansions and transmission towers for BCHydro. Coordinating between client, engineers, and sub-trades my main responsibilities were to:• Plan, develop, coordinate, and manage onsite construction activities.• Prepare construction schedules and monitor any delays or changes in design • Perform cost tracking against the established construction budget• Resolve design issues prior to construction via RFI with project Engineer• Conduct quality control activities to ensure construction work complies with all of the design instructions, engineering standards, codes, and specifications• Sign up subcontractors, then guide them through shop drawing approval, scheduling, safety protocol and material deliveries. Overseeing their onsite activities and QA/QC so that delivery of their product adheres to project standards and schedule.• Participate in continuous maintenance of as-built documents which reflect any changes made to the specifications or drawings during construction• Maintain project documents to track design changes, site instructions, change orders, shop drawings, as builts as well as safety documentation.

As an engineering surveyor I worked on projects big and small, from simple residential storm and road layout to considerable concrete pours for Hydroelectric facilities. My roles as a surveyor were to:• Maintain and operate survey equipment including Total Station, GPS and digital level.• Interpret detailed structural and civil engineering drawings and layout points for earthworks, road works, structural steel, mechanical, drainage, and services. Typical layout would consist of elevations for excavation and grading, formwork and steel locations for concrete pours, road centreline and bearing or services/drainage pipe locations.• Carry out topographical surveys for future projects and for ‘as built’ information on ongoing and completed projects.• Determine site location and orientation in respect to known points and monuments in order to establish secondary control for use on site. • Monitor preload and settlement gauges on a regular basis to track earth movements during and after construction.• Keep thorough daily reports and field notes as well as coding all stored points accordingly, in order to keep track of work progress, this is especially important for long running projects.
