As the sole Permanent Staff Instructor (PSI) posted to an Army Reserve Unit I was responsible for planning, coordinating, assessing and auditing Squadron level training for upto 100 personnel. Reporting to the Executive Officer (training officer) the role included the management and recording of mandated annual training tests (MATTS) to ensure soldiers were not only competently trained and fit to deploy, but also eligible for financial bounties.As the Senior Gunnery Instructor within the regiment I planned, coordinated and operationally ran 2 successful regimental gunnery courses bringing sub units together from the north of England. This also involved training recruit firers on the light cavalry weapon systems and conducting live firing from the platform within minimal time frame. As a whole, the PSI role required excellent use of Microsoft Office and the ability to plan and implement an ever changing training schedule out to atleast 6 months at a time.

Over 14 years service with the British Army in a Reconnaissance unit reaching the rank of Sergeant in 2014. 4 Operational tours of Iraq and Afghanistan as well many more other worldwide deployments. Various roles managing, leading and mentoring people. Vast experience in an instructional capacity teaching new recruits phase 1 soldiering and Army Reserve soldiers light reconnaissance skills and tactics.

Light Cavalry Troop Sergeant. As the troop second-in-command I was responsible for managing the discipline and welfare of 15 soldiers and have done so both in the UK and overseas. Accountable for coordinating and maintaining 4 armoured vehicles and all the equipment worth over £5 million. As the senior weapons instructor was responsible for planning, administrating and conducting weapons training and ranges at troop and squadron level and the recording of mandatory annual training tests.
